Cascading Essence

the light shined through
just enough to cast a shadow
outlining each petal
against the pale, freshly painted wall

the purity
and simplicity
seems mockingly
easy

the reds fade to pinks
as the pinks turn to browns
reminding us that there is always
worse out there

and sometimes our problems
are merely
a simple
shadow
