I look down
and want to
scream

the lights blur
glaring back
at me

the truth burns
deep eating away
at what I wish
didn't exist

the lies seem
better
more real
but less
attainable

the reality
weighs down
pressuring me
into someone
I don't want
to be

you were once there
right by my side
the way you said
you always would be

but you lied
in the blink
of an eye
without even a glance behind

you're long gone
only around in hauntings
leaving me
questioning

what's real
who's real
and if anyone really means it
when they say
they'll be there
